DJ of the Month

March 2014: Hunter Farman

Hunter Farman host two format shows on WMCX. His shows are on Friday from 10:00am- 12:00pm and on Saturday from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Even though Hunter is a freshman here at Monmouth, he has gone above and beyond what we could have imagined. With an amazing radio voice and killer music selection, we are excited to have him be a part of our station for the next three years. – KC Wight, General Manager

February 2014: Harrison Strevens

DJ Embryo aka Harrison Strevens host his show Punk Rock, Egg, and Cheese on Tuesday from 8:00pm-10:00pm with his co-host, Lewis. With his use of “hot keys”, we are pretty sure the air horn is his favorite one, and his energetic vibe, his show is anything but boring. You can usually find him hanging out in the WMCX lobby making us all smile with his humor and his great impression of Dr. Furgason. – KC Wight, General Manager

“It is a goofy show, we (Lewis, his co-host) discuss our experiences at shows and albums we look forward to and bands we like. We like to stay current with what is going on in the scene of music, but we also like to talk about video games and food. The best feeling is when a caller tells me that they understand where I am coming from and enjoy my show.”
- Harrison Strevens

January 2014: Christina Fisher

A freshman here at Monmouth University, we only see good thing to come in the future for Christina.- KC Wight, General Manager

 Brianna Merriman

Bri Merriman hosts a format show every Friday from 2pm-4pm. Bri was picked for DJ of the month because as an incoming freshman she’s shown incredible growth as a DJ. She transitions well between songs in a very natural, personal and informative way. She has a bright personality on and off air and is incredibly punctual and reliable. “We play anything alternative and indie but mainly today’s newest and up-and-coming alt/indie artists. We try putting the spotlight on bands that don’t usually get any airtime and that are on the rise. Every week we do a throwback track and a doubleshot as well as some special themed shows (e. g. Holiday, Halloween, etc).” – Jon Weisman
